PONGAL CELEBRATION

"The Greatness of a Culture can be found in its Festivals” Pongal, a four-day harvest festival was celebrated on 10 Jan 2025 @ Terapanth Jain Vidyalaya, Sowcarpet. It was an extraordinary day with a typical Pongal Day celebration. TYP auditorium and the classes were adorned with flowers, thoranum and sugarcane stacked to mark the occasion. The day kicked off with a Tamil speech on "Pongal" during the special assembly. The special occasion witnessed the presence of our esteemed management members our Joint Secretary Shri. Dr. Kamlesh Nahar, Treasurer Shri. Gautam Chand Samdariya, Correspondent- Sowcarpet Shri. Mahaveer Chand Gelada, School Committee Convener-Sowcarpet Shri. Mahendra Kumar Anchaliya, Executive Committee Member Shri. Goutham Chand Dhariwal. A Pongal-themed Tamil song was beautifully sung by the teachers. Every moment was enriching for the students who were able to experience typical Pongal celebrations from std KG to XII. Intra-class competitions with the theme of Pongal celebration were conducted from KG to std IX. And the best-embellished classes were appreciated by the management. The occasion was filled with revelry music songs and the joyful faces reverted to big smiles. The traditional Pongal pooja was conducted, our management members, teachers and students offered prayers to Sun god and Lakshmi. Teachers and service staff enthusiastically participated in the games, pick the ring, sugarcane eating, and musical chairs. The winners were awarded by the management. The highlight of the day was our esteemed management members who participated with sporty spirit in the Lemon and Spoon race and EC Member Shri. Goutham Chand Dhariwal won the prize. The event provided an opportunity for the students to learn about the significance of the festival and showcase their talents. Our respected Joint

Secretary Shri. Dr. Kamlesh Nahar addressed the gathering highlighted the significance of the Pongal celebration, and conveyed the Pongal wishes on behalf of the management. The celebrations concluded with a vibrant kummi dance, a sense of joy and festivity and everyone carried memories to be cherished.
